Students receive intensive individual academic and behavior management.
River Bend Mission
At River Bend we strive to be our best, be kind, be responsible, and be leaders. River Bend provides a safe and supportive learning environment to help students reach their full potential.
River Bend will incorporate research-based best practices in curriculum development and racial identity development to create an anti-racist education for all. We will provide an inspiring educational environment that fosters learning and social-emotional development and academic growth through culturally responsive teaching, family and community partnerships and innovative instructional practices. Students will be empowered to take ownership of their education and personal self worth.
Specialized Programs
Specialized Programming is designed to meet specific community placement needs or the requirements of a student's Individual Education Plan (IEP). To receive special education services, a student must first be evaluated and meet state criteria. Once qualified, an IEP is developed for the student. Programs and services are provided to students and their families beginning at birth through age 21, or completion of a secondary education program. Special education is also available for students who live in Minneapolis that attend non-public schools.
